Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
