Following a conclusive second-round vote, hardline candidate José Antonio Kast has won the presidential office in Chile.

A Commanding Win

After over 99% of votes tallied, Kast secured 58.17% of the ballots, beating leftist contender Jeannette Jara, who earned 41.83%.

This signifies Kast's third bid for the presidency, having previously been defeated by the sitting president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 runoff.

Platform Centered On Law and Order and Immigration

Recognized for his strong socially conservative views and regard for the rule of former leader Augusto Pinochet, Kast's campaign was mostly centered on promises to address rising crime and drastically restrict migration.
