In a unexpected partnership that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Uncovered

According to the formal announcement, "An unusual encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.

The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who finish the quest will acquire an special katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique implements
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Update

This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
